Roads in Chennai

What to say about the roads in Chennai..
Travelling from home to office itself is like going in a rollercoaster ride.
That too roads in pallavaram, chrompet area are terrible. I have put my son in one of
the reputed schools. Inside the campus infrastructure is very good. But when you come out you find only mud roads. Imagine its condition during rainy days. This school has been functioning for more than 10 years. I am wondering why no steps have been taken. I made a note of it to the school authorities. It will be good if officials take some action on this matter.

Updates

I am most of the time off the track in blogging. So here go the updates.

  • Got admission for Hannu :) Best part of it is Hannu's first interview and he came out with success. I was the proudest mom when the admission results were announced.

  • Hannu is having his time at home. The whole 2.5 months of holidays for him. So
elders at home are having very tiring days ;-0

  • Myself and hannu had very good break at my parents home. I especially was moving
lazily around. We partied out and went for 2-3 movies with dad.

  • Plans for shifting the house are progressing. So hoping for hectic weeks ahead. But it is much more exiting as we are moving (some what) close by my parents house. No more hectic train, bus and auto journey for hannu to meet his grandparents.

Pre-KG admission

I have heard seeking admission in schools have been the difficult task but never imagined it will be the most
toughest of all. I was looking out for schools for hannu and picked up one of the best school in the list and planned everything accordingly. My amma made regular visits and notified me as soon as the admissions started. Luckily for us
no standing in the Q. This school opted for online admission from this year. They had a particualr date for result
announcement and to my joy hannu's name was in the list. This particular school had the age criteria as maximum 40 months for LKG and I was so happy that at 36 months hannu will be in his LKG classes. Rest of the schools had 42 months as minimum age.

My thought was to go and pay the fees and not to bother till june when the schools starts. This particular school had sent us a card for interview. Promptly me, hubby and hannu went to school on time and were waiting eagerly for our turn. Our turn did come..A panel of members were sitting and verifying the documents which they had asked us to give. They didnt agree with our address proof as it had old and new street name confusion and rejected the admission for Hannu. We argued with them but in vain.We had the proof their interview card but they didnot agree to it. They accept only ration cards and gas books for proof seems not even telephone bill. Very irritated myself and hubby left the place. Playful little hannu asked us "Amma, R we not going to the big school?" on the way to home. I felt very bad.
I was telling him all the while that he will be in big school and asking him to answer when some ome questions.

Now we have applied for other schools. Some schools have interview for 3yr old kids. I see my colleagues with small kidoos in the same tensed world for getting school admissions. Doono how far this hungama is going to go.
